Who We Are & What We Believe

There is one thing for sure... and that is that there is no shortage of churches today. So... what is so different about The Rock Fellowship Church?Recognizing the unquestionable need for people to hear the bold and unwavering truth of God without being bound by "religiosity or doctrines of men," The Rock Fellowship Church has determined to be a "passion intent" body of believers who, together; worship, glorify and exhort our Lord Jesus Christ.Rock Fellowship Church is a new Non-Denominational Church Plant with designs of serving the Southern Coastal region between Brookings and Gold Beach. Rock Fellowship is currently establishing a core commitee launch team as we seek God's direction and leading. We are initially meeting as a home church, with the eventual plans of moving into a larger facility as the Lord leads.We Believe....* The Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritive Word of God.* In one God, eternally existent in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.* In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascention into Heaven, His high priestly ministry, and His personal and impending return in power and glory.* That man must be born again for salvation, and that salvation is a free gift of God's grace received by personal faith in Jesus Christ.* In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is sealed until the day of redemption, and by whose filling, the believer is empowered to live a Godly life.* That because all power and authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to the Lord Jesus Christ, He has sovereignly directed believers to evangelize and edify people of every nation... to carry out His great commission.* We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers who are in our Lord, Jesus Christ.Our Mission Statement...Empowered by God,We will Edify the Body of ChristAs We Model His Love,Minister His Love,and Multiply His Love,In Reproducing Christ-like DisciplesOur Vision Statement...To reach and affect our town, the coastal communities, and our world with the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

The Vision

Habakkuk 2:2"Then the Lord answered me and said: Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."In the Fall of 2002, God spoke to Pastor Dave and told him that we would have a ministry together that would shake the very foundations of hell itself. Then in the Summer of 2006 God gave us a vision and a dream to see His people to be restored to Him. There are so many who are lost and hurting. So many who are unsaved and need to hear the truth and the saving power of Gods Word. However there are just as many lost, hurting and misdirected Christians in our midst. People who believe there is a God, yet deny, in so many ways, His power. There are families being dismantled like unwanted car parts... marriages disintegrating while the children bare the pain... and pastors stand in the pulpits in their $1000 suits telling everyone "I'm ok, you're ok, we're all ok."We are not ok. We cannot continue to simply exhort the congregations, tell them what they want to hear, then go home patting ourselves on the back and counting our crowns! People need discipled.It is one thing to preach at the congregation and tell them what they shouldn't be doing... it's another thing to TEACH them how to make the changes in their lives in order to live a Godly life according to the Word. We need to be pro-active in our church, administering the preventative medicine of Christ in order to help our congregants ward off the fiery darts that are going to come at them. We dream of revival. Revival in the church, and outside of the church. God gave me a Word about 7 ½ years ago. Not a verse, just one word. Complacency. The church has become complacent. It has been lulled asleep and has allowed others to just tickle their ears. Did Jesus not tell us that would happen and to be watchful of it? Revival is much needed in the church today and we believe it is time!That part of the vision is the priority. Seeing hearts changed... seeing lives saved... seeing people, marriages and families restored in Christ. Seeing thousands come to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus. As we begin our search for a launch team, a Youth Pastor and dedicated prayer partners, we are standing in faith that God will open the doors of opportunity for us to acquire the property or building to build His church within the next year. We have a very distinct vision for The Rock Fellowship Church. The church could be measured into two parts; there is the material church, which is the buildings and property, etc. And then there is the physical church, which is the working body of Christ. The material church is just a structure without the working Body of Christ. We envision the material church in order to fill, supply, and enable the needs of the physical church, the working body of Christ. We do not want to become a church of programs, but we do want to be a church of ministries. There are many good programs, but they lose their significance when they stop ministering. So as we look at the vision, we want to remember that in all we do, the ultimate goal is to bring Glory to God.We envision a beautiful sanctuary and worship center that will seat a large number of people. We see it as being rustic and homey, with prayer rooms and a separate mothers room. We envision a prayer chapel that will be open around the clock so that anyone can visit and pray.We envision a retreat center, classrooms, and a coffee house. We desire classrooms in order to have discipleship training to better equip those who are called by God.... so they can go out and disciple others. We see many opportunities to follow the example laid out in Acts2:44-47... "Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved."The church body and those outside of the body have so many needs. We would like to use Acts 2:44-47 as an example for the tithes and offerings. If some had more than others, they gave in order to meet the needs of the body. We see the property being used for Gods glory. It should be a working church... one that is self sustaining and able to give back. Jesus told us to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. It grieves our hearts when we see pastors living like kings and their congregants living in squalor. All too often they preach the prosperity message without teaching their people how to budget their finances, how to grow a garden, how to build a resume, etc. We believe in prosperity; but we also believe God meant it for everyone not just the pastors.Ministries and outreach are the backbone of any church. But again, ministries, programs and the like are not suppose to be social clicks they are meant for a purpose; and if we are glorifying ourselves with selfish motives and not Christ, then they need not be.We would like to have womens ministry that is devoted to mentoring and outreach to younger women and moms (Titus 2:3-5). A mens ministry that is devoted also, to leading by example and teaching the younger men how to be husbands and dads. A youth ministry that is grounded and reaches out to their peers without prejudice. A worship team that is dedicated to Christ and to the highly momentous task of leading a congregation into the presence of God without regard to self. We desire a childrens ministry that teaches the Word of God from the time they are babies and raise them up to be leaders and mighty men and women of God. We desire to have a social services ministry that focuses on the needs of the body and of the community; meeting the needs of those in need. This ministry would work in a cooperative manner with doctors and dentists in order to find affordable or no-cost care for those without medical insurance. They would obtain and receive food donations in order to feed those in need... and would assess the needs of those who are having trouble paying a bill and assist them with it. These would all fall under the ministry of social service and along with helping to meet the needs will offer help by teaching those in need how to budget, how to cut down on bills, etc. The most important aspect of this ministry would be the opportunity to share Jesus Christ with each and every person that comes to us for a need. We would like to work cooperatively with local organizations and have a no-cost camp for abused or needy children a few times each summer in order to share the love and compassion of Jesus. We also have a heart for and believe in missions, however, missions begins at home. When Jesus preached, He began with the local community and ended with sending out disciples to the nations. Many times we focus so heavily on 3rd world nations, forgetting the hurting in our own backyard. We have seen many churches stride right past the walking wounded sitting in their own pews. As well as supporting missionaries in other lands, we would like to highly focus on the homeless, battered and abused women and children, and other local missions. Above all, we want to teach the church to love as Jesus loves. To see people as Jesus sees them; with a compassionate heart ready to freely give to them of their time, talents and treasures. The church is not to be a country club with clicky womens groups and youths filled with attitude. The church is a hospital for the sick and we are the emergency room attendants taking them to the Great Physician. We have so many thoughts and ideas... too many to write down. And God has so many tasks for us to perform, tasks He hasn't even told us about yet. There will be people coming to the church who God has also given a vision too, and we will be the catalyst to help them fulfill Gods plan for them. We certainly do not want to put God in a box. He has plans we cannot even dream of..."Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Cor. 2:9So we continue to keep the vision open and continue to place it before the throne.

We are currently seeking a team of committed individuals, with like minds and vision, to work along side of the Rock Fellowship launch team. Our launch team is a group of dedicated Christ followers who's purpose is to help us pray, plan, and work together to fulfill the God-given vision of building the Rock Fellowship Church.If you have a heart to see our communities changed for Christ... If you have been praying for revival and seeking something more in your life... If you think "out of the box" and have big dreams of serving Christ in a mighty way... then we would love to talk to you more about being a part of this exciting endeavor! Launch Team positions are non-paid, servant positions during the first year. During that time, we will also be deciding which staff positions will eventually need to be filled and in what order. Also, which servant positions will need to be filled for the long term. We believe that many of those positions may be filled by those who are on the launch team. Those individuals who are candidates would naturally transition from launch team member to which ever servant or staff position they could potentially fill. Pastors Dave and Debi Levendusky are the founders and pastors of The Rock Fellowship Church. Founded in February, 2005, the Rock Fellowship ministries found it's beginnings in Shady Cove, Oregon as Pastor Dave and Debi ministered to those who were fighting drug and alcohol abuse at the Walker Study Center. After the center closed it's doors in 2007, they moved to the coast of Oregon and began to wait on God's leading and direction.

Now in May 0f 2010 Pastors Dave and Debi are focused on launching The Rock Fellowship Church, a non-denominational church to serve the coastal communities between Brookings and Gold Beach, Oregon.

Pastors Dave and Debi hold fast to the promises of God, preach the truth of the Gospel, and seek to see lives changed for God. They are driven by a passionate commitment to see people blessed and succeeding in
